Pink Rose Icing

We found a small coffee shop open with space
to sit by the window a while.

The scene is playing in her mind;
a stranger with a passing smile
and careless charm with youth aligned
in casual captivating style.

A glittering haven of sunshine and splashes
away from the clamour of stock market crashes
that shatter the lives of the poor,

He throws his chance at the night.
The moon is a silver coin,

Faint melodic musings of the blackbird spoken

With icy breeze and sparkling sun
and quiet days, a year begun.

I found a spider in the bath
and so I wondered what to do.

The slamming heaviness of stress,
and deadlines padlocked to my mind,
discarded and the cold duress
of razored words are left behind.

Some mariners embarked upon a quest
and as their ship traversed across the sea,
