Snail Princess

Snail Princess

A princess looked out of her window and saw,
a prince on a galleon approaching the shore,
to purchase supplies at the port.
She left her state bedroom declaring in haste,
there wasn’t a moment to squander or waste.
He must be invited to court!

Requesting a steed, she was granted a snail,
that slid down the mountainside, leaving a trail
of slime as it slowly progressed.
She groaned with frustration, aware she would miss
her moment to charm him, perhaps with a kiss.
Her sorrow could not be expressed!
