With icy breeze and sparkling sun
and quiet days, a year begun.
The gravel road is flat and dry
beneath the blue transparent sky.
The sunlight flashes on the lake
with satin ripples in the wake
of languid ducks that smoothly glide
upon the water's limpid.
The trees reach up with sanguine strength;
their crooked arms extend in length.
as if to touch the clouds that drift
on sweeping winds that rise and lift.
The world is clear and fresh and bright;
a clean new page still blank and white
on which to write a new account
to which the passing days amount.

The Sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly for first few days of this year. It seemed as if sunlight filtered through the future to shine the sparkling sun of God’s presence on every day that is to come.
It feels like this year has been illuminated with grace and favour that will shine upon every day.
We will feel the warm touch of joy this year as we encounter the presence of God.
“I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them.” Isaiah 42:16
As I walked along smooth forest path towards the sparkling sun, it was almost as if I was walking towards the presence of God on the the way He had prepared before me.
“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18
I have a sense that God is already there in the future. He is waiting to welcome us and we can go and meet Him in each day of this year.
