The Lord is close to those who call His name,
though disillusionment has brought despair.
When cruel betrayal plays a lethal game,
He hears each whispered murmur of a prayer.
Responding to our cries, He reaches out,
to free us from the snares and draw us near,
forgiving disobedience and doubt;
His overwhelming love replaces fear.
The beauty of His presence lights a fire
of worship and devotion, pure and true,
as He becomes our prize and our desire,
with each perspective seen from Heaven’s view.
