Black Eclipse

Black Eclipse

The topaz light to which she turned her face,
has disappeared behind a black eclipse.
Rejecting its malevolent embrace,
she wipes the poisoned kisses from her lips.

In veils of darkened silence, she finds peace;
the symphony of shadows calms her mind,
for here, the pounding accusations cease,
and she is loosed from bruising cords that bind.

Now flickering impressions rise and weave,
like butterflies with burning amber wings,
that dance a whispered pattern of reprieve
whiles summer’s echoed music faintly rings.
