Random Reflections

Random reflections includes a varied selection of illustrated poems written in rhyme and free verse. You will also find a series of articles related to happiness and the Christian experience.

While the articles tend to be more conversational, the poems can be described as metaphorical representations of my inner world. I particularly like to write fantasy pieces with inspirational themes.

In my view, artistic expression contributes to attaining an enhanced sense of wellbeing.

The creative process is said to facilitate the release of dopamine which is associated with pleasure and reward. That is certainly true in my opinion.

I am happiest when I am writing a poem or creating an image.

From my own experience, I have found artistic expression to be inherently rewarding. Time seems to stand still when I am concentrating my attention on composing a poem or writing an article. My anxieties fade away as I as I become fully immersed in the creative process.

In essence, Random Reflections can be described as a gallery of my imagination. While I have used various applications to create the illustrations, all the poems are my own work.

Poetry is a mirror reflecting the soul.

I love the redemptive aspect of being able to derive beautiful art from the experience of struggles and difficulties. Creating beauty from suffering affords a sense of meaning and purpose despite the inevitable pain of life.

The greatest success is being able to turn a personal story into one of victory in the face of adversity.

From a Christian perspective:

I believe God’s intention is that our individual stories should each have happy endings and we should emerge as heroes in the midst of challenging circumstances.
